Fancy FlowersI remember the day Jason told me about a "new beginning" for our family. He told me about a new land that lay far beyond the river that was ready for the picking. I had never been more than ten miles away from home and when he told me that it might take six weeks just to reach this new land. There was so much to do before we were to leave on this journey.

I was born into a large family of seven children and have lived all of my life on a small farm in Pennsylvania on the banks of the River. I never thought about life behond that.
My daddy told me about how open and untamed the land was when he rode in a wagon to great falls. He was about the age of Little Corn is now. He tells of the hardships and failures of his life but always says, "we stayed together and worked hard". I am beginning to understand what he was talking about as we get ready to begin our journey.
