Life did change that day for us as well as the rest of the town. Tom was able to go more places with 'our' car than ever before. His practice has doubled around town. I think it is because folks just want to see the car. My favorite part is when we head to Walter's Gas and Tire station in the east part of town. Tom usually jumps out of the car to see Mrs. Smith, Walter's wife since her fall down stairs broke her leg. Walter comes up to my side of the car and after asking how much gasoline I need, waits for me to hold up my hand. You see, we always just get 5 gallons because Tom says that 5 cents a gallon is just way to much to pay. Having a car has given me the freedom to do more in life.
