“Friday Night Out”
It's Friday Night and once again I am setting at my usual table eating a juicy hamburger with fries and a chocolate malt. It is what I do every Friday night at the local soda shop. Tonight I am waiting for Mary Ann to arrive so we can head over to the school gym for the sock hop. The soda fountain is starting to get crowded with the local kids waiting for the dance to start. I love to hear the songs blasting out of jukebox, Pat Boone's "Love Letters In The Sand", "Come Go With Me", by the Del-Vikings, and my favorite song, "Peggy Sue", by Buddy Holly. For just a quarter you could listen to 5 songs. I bet I have almost worn out the Buddy Holly 45 record since I always play it two or three times a day. I am not sure what I will do once I graduate from high school but I do know that as long as the soda shop stays open, I will be able to relive all the great times Mary Ann and I have had there.
