I turned away.  On my birthday, my mother gave me the green feed sack dress. I quickly tried it on and didn’t want to take it off.  The next day, I got up early and put my dress on. I quickly ate breakfast and left for school.  along the way, I made sure I walked by the big houses on smith creek to show it off. reaching the school house, every eye turned to see my dress.  I walked with pride to my seat and opened up my book.  At playtime, I went outside but only sat on the rock wall so I would not get my dress dirty.  When it was time to go home, I slowly left the school house. I walked home with my head held high.  When I arrived home, my mommy had finished her dress.  we now can wear the same pattern.  I can’t wait for the new patterns to come out so I can get a dress made.
